چکیده
In previous studies show cryoballoon ablation (CBA) and radiofrequency (RFA) are similar results. However, RFA technology has progressed in few years, lesion size assessment module developed to improve durability. The aim of this study was compare clinical outcome guided by prediction second or fourth-generation CBA patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF). We enrolled 1905 PAF (65.2 ± 11.3years, male 68.0%). 205 after who underwent module, Ablation Index Lesion Size Index, 1700 September 2014 August 2020, evaluated retrospectively. performed pulmonary vein isolation followed additional non-pulmonary foci ablation. selected 194 treated (follow-up period 14.1 7.9months) 23.9 12.9months) using propensity score matching. During a follow-up period, tachyarrhythmia recurrence documented 34 (17.5%) 38 (19.6%) CBA. Freedom from without anti-arrhythmic-drugs single procedure 2 groups (1-year Kaplan–Meier survival rate estimates, RFA:84.9% CBA:88.9%, p=0.358). mean total time shorter than (109 45 vs 148 54 minutes, P<0.001), the fluoroscopy (20 18 33 21 P<0.001). proportion slightly higher for (42patients, 21.7%) (36patients, 18.6%), but difference not significant (P=0.447). Similarly, there no left atrium, although more common (CBA: 16 patients, 8.3% RFA: 10 5.2%, p=0.223). [image] And, A 20 32 number people reconnection each (50.0%) 15 (46.9%) CBA, respectively, as percentage(P=0.83). found that treatment PAF, module-guided statistically efficacy still results even today.

Cryoballoon or Radiofrequency Ablation for Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation.
BACKGROUND Current guidelines recommend pulmonary-vein isolation by means of catheter ablation as treatment for drug-refractory paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Radiofrequency ablation is the most common method, and cryoballoon ablation is the second most frequently used technology. METHODS We conducted a multicenter, randomized trial to determine whether cryoballoon ablation was noninferior t...
متن کاملCryoballoon Versus Open Irrigated Radiofrequency Ablation in Patients With Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation
A trial fibrillation (AF), the most common form of cardiac arrhythmia, is associated with a risk of associated complications such as stroke and heart failure, in addition to a higher rate of mortality. Sinus rhythm can often be restored with electric cardioversion; however, the rate of AF recurrence is high, even with administration of antiarrhyth-mic drugs (AADs). 3 In addition to their relati...
متن کاملCryoballoon ablation for atrial fibrillation
2014 Pulmonary vein (PV) isolation is the cornerstone of ablation therapy for atrial fibrillation. The majority of procedures are still performed using radiofrequency (RF) energy and a point-by-point ablation approach. Novel ‘single shot’ ablation tools with the aim of creating a circumferential lesion around the PVs with a single or a limited number of energy applications emerge. The currently...
متن کاملCryoballoon versus RF ablation in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation: results from the German Ablation Registry.
BACKGROUND Catheter ablation is used extensively with curative intention in atrial fibrillation. Radiofrequency ablation has long been a standard of care, while cryoballoon technology has emerged as a feasible approach with promising results. Prospective multicenter registry data referring to both ablation technologies in AF ablation therapy are lacking. METHODS Between January 2007 and Augus...
متن کاملCryoballoon Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation
Focal point-by-point radiofrequency catheter ablation has shown considerable success in the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. However, it is not without limitations. Recent clinical and preclinical studies have demonstrated that cryothermal ablation using a balloon catheter (Artic Front©, Medtronic CryoCath LP) provides an effective alternative strategy to treating atrial fibrillatio...
